Long Exposure Photography at Blue Hour, a.k.a. “Last Lights” of the Day, by Joey J πŸ“Έ

What I am Doing Now (12 August 2022)

I’ve almost made up my mind to upgrade my body (Nikon D610) to Nikon Z 6II , but the problem is “when”. In fact, the body was sold at around SGD2,400 on Amazon Prime Day back in July, but gone back to $3,099 since then. I’m hoping that the price will go down on Black Friday or during Christmas period. πŸ˜…

I’ve been using D610 for the past 8+ years. Unsurprisingly, I’ve developed a strong attachment to it. It’s really an understatement to say that I feel sad to let it go 😒, as almost all my photos posted on this website were shot with D610. In a way, D610 has seen my growth as a photographer in all these years.

That said, it’s indeed a long overdue to upgrade the body, and I’m looking forward to finally moving to mirrorless. Once this is done, there’s another decision to be made on whether to continue using my DSLR lenses via Z mount adaptor or purchase a new lens specifically made for mirrorless.

Anyway, one thing at a time!

Congrats and I think I been through like 6 different cameras or more in the time you’ve had the one haha. Hopefully Amazon SG do a sale like that some time soon!

Have you considered spending a bit more and just keeping the D610 as a backup body/for memories sake?

Exciting times!

Thanks, hoping to upgrade within this year. Not planning to keep D610 (I’m a minimalist πŸ˜‚).

I don’t keep old bodies either (mainly because they fund the new one) but I’m always tempted just for memories sake πŸ˜…

I have my D7200 and got a Z6 about a year ago. Slowly transitioning to mirrorless now. But the D7200 is still my backup and I’m more comfortable with the D7200 still. Need to learn more about the functions on the Z6.

Hi Michael, I didn’t know you’re a Nikonian! In your case, I guess it’s good to have both Z6 and D7200, as D7200 gives you the extra reach (1.5x).

Hey, I’m the person who bought your D610. I just found your website from your Clubsnap classified bump. I’ve already been putting it through its paces, and will likely be using it for macro + birding. Rest assured that I’ll take good care of it!
