“Photo of the Month” for September comes from my unplanned trip back to Fukuoka, Japan, where I’m originally from. I was actually there for a family memorial and had a super hectic week, but before flying back to Singapore, I managed a 30 km ride on a rented minivelo (a Japanese term for a small bike, like a Brompton) and captured this blue hour shot from Fukuoka Tower. It was a mentally heavy week, but my hobbies proved to be a real savior, helping me restore some peace of mind. 😌
As for the photo, the weather wasn’t even great when I headed out, but I went anyway since I really wanted to shoot at least once before my week-long stay ended.
Over the past decade, I’ve shot this view from Fukuoka Tower several times, but I was never satisfied with the results, mainly because of the flat and monotonous east-facing sky. This time was a little better, but still not quite satisfying, so I’m hoping to give it another try on my next visit. 😅
Anyway, life goes on. I just need to stay healthy and fit for as long as I can, and live the rest of my life without regrets!
