Un-inspirational π Photography Quotes: Part 2 β Your Photo Gallery Is β¦
“Your Photo Gallery Is Only as Good as Your Weakest Image.” β LASTLIGHTS.NET
Somewhere online, I saw someone saying along this line, and I couldn’t agree more (although this statement might sound a bit harsh π ). In the past, my website had a page called Top 50 Photo Gallery, but in retrospect, the quality wasn’t quite there.
It wasn’t too hard to pick the first 20 to 25 photos, but became much harder beyond that, not because I had many good photos to choose from, but I had to include some unconvincing-looking photos to make it 50. π
After revamping my website a few years ago, my Home Gallery now features 30 photos instead, and I follow “one in one out” rule, which means whenever I add a new worthy photo to the gallery, I take out the weakest photo to always keep the number as 30.
Reducing the number of photos is a sure way to increase the quality of the gallery (a typical example of “less is more” π ). When it becomes too hard to pick a photo to be taken out, then it’s time to increase the number of photos in the gallery. To me, 30 is a good number for now. π

I would agree with this quote and sadly my gallery is very weak then as I put a bit of everything in there π€£
Understandable that we want to post what weβve photographed. To me, my website is only for the best ones, then the rest goes to Tumblr. π
A great number, Joey! π
Thanks! If more than 30, it also takes longer to load the page, so I think 30 is a good number. π
Agreed! π―
I would love to see more of your fantastic work, Joey. The photos in the gallery are stunning!
Thank you for your kind word! Apart from the gallery, Iβm posting βPhoto of the Monthβ posts, so hopefully youβll get to see some new photos there. π
