Long Exposure Photography at Blue Hour, a.k.a. “Last Lights” of the Day, by Joey J 📸

What I am Doing Now (16 December 2022)

Where does your motivation for photography come from? I love being out at blue hour to shoot cityscapes with long exposure, but my biggest motivation actually comes from this website. I see this website like my home, and I want to fill it with a lot of nice photos.

Furthermore, this WordPress-powered website is built (hand-coded) all by myself, so I have all the more affection for it. This website is like a passion project, and it’s really the place where all my passions are combined into one. Of course, it’d be nice for my photography to be one day recognised and appreciated by others, but I guess we shouldn’t be doing art to impress people. 😅

Indeed, without this website, I don’t know where my motivation for photography will come from, or where my photos will go. Maybe social media, but to me, social media can never replace my website.

Interesting post Joey, especially since as you mention if there’s no website you aren’t sure where your motivation will come from! I guess a good question to ask yourself would be when you aren’t updating this website, would you still want to shoot if the sky is a 10/10?

Probably still want to shoot if the sky is good, but the fun will be halved if there is no website to post my photos. 😅
