“Photo of the Month” for August also features two photos, both taken from similar spots along the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade on different days. Fortunately, I was able to capture relatively calm water for reflections on those occasions.
Behind these successes were more than a few outings where the water was too choppy to shoot as planned, but that’s all part of the game and how it goes sometimes, even if I do often complain about my bad luck with choppy water. 🤣
In fact, here in Singapore, I can always return to shoot again if I’m not satisfied with the sky or reflections, so it’s not a big deal (though it can be a bit disappointing and frustrating when it happens repeatedly 😩).
When traveling overseas, however, having the best possible conditions becomes all the more critical, since I often have only one evening or two to shoot at each location. For that reason, I like to think that trying to be a good person in daily life brings a little good karma for good weather and calm water. 😅
Otherwise, it’s mostly life as usual — working full-time while looking forward to the things that bring me joy: blue hour photography, weekend cycling, listening to my favorite podcasts, and so on. These little pleasures give me the energy to get through each day!

Love the cloud movement in the second one Joey! Usually the joys in life are often never related to work 🤣
Thanks, Daniel! Haha, I appreciate my job (especially the WFH part), but not something I look forward to doing. 😅 Want to get my life fully started after retiring!
