1st National Photography Art Exhibition in Singapore

From 9 to 12 October 2025, one of my photos was exhibited at the 1st National Photography Art Exhibition in Singapore. 😊 The exhibition commemorated SG60, Singapore’s 60th year of independence, with the theme “Remembering the past and looking forward to the future.”

Back in June, I came across the call for submissions and decided to try my luck with one of my favorite photos taken at Gardens by the Bay East in 2017, and I’m happy to share it was accepted!

The exhibition was held at The Art Space SG (66 Kallang Pudding Road, Singapore).

This Marina Bay skyline shot is the one that was exhibited at the gallery (35mm, f/11, 194 secs, ISO 100).

This was actually the first time I’d received any kind of recognition in my 17 years of shooting as a photography enthusiast — I’d never been published or featured before, whether in print or online. Not that I’ve been chasing recognition, but it did feel a bit like Squidward finally getting his moment in the spotlight. 😅

I attended the opening ceremony (the guest of honor was Member of Parliament Ms. Goh Sze Kee) and noticed that the vast majority of the photographers attending were seniors in their 60s or 70s. It was heartening to see them spending their retirement years pursuing their passion for photography. 😊

Not sure if I get an opportunity like this again, but either way, I’ll keep exploring cities in and out of Singapore with my camera, as this passion for cityscape photography continues to shape my life’s journey. 📸
